New to town? Great way to meet your new lovers of the outdoors, and learn more about the city and its history!
The fort was created to prevent British forces from sailing up The Hudson River. It did not succeed. Why? There are a number of indoor and outdoor exhibits describing in details those historical events. One indoor exhibit depicts major battles around New York, outdoors are the guns the way they were arranged during the war.
Getting there: Let's meet at W 175 Street and Fort Washington Ave. at 11:00 am. Return time depends on the pace of the participants.
Take the A train to 175 St. Those who live in NJ - you can meet us at the museum at 12:30. (Please make sure it is the Revolutionary War Museum and not the other one in town.)
We will walk back the same way, and stop at a local restaurant (TBC) for a drink and a meal.
More details to come. Please register (for us to know how many we should expect) and for you - to get the updates regarding the event.
