SWISS SKI CLUB KAYAK/CANOE TRIP

Join us for a Kayak and/or Canoe trip on the Nissequogue River on Long Island.
The Nissequoque River is a tidal river which runs with the tide fed from the Long Island Sound which means it runs in 2 different directions depending on the tide flow. This trip starts in Smithtown at the Paul T Given Park on Main Street and we will paddle about 5 1/2 miles to Kings Park. Transportation will be provided from the Train Station and from the end of the trip back to the Train Station or to your car at the Park. The rental company will provide this service. The PADDLE trip generally takes about 2 1/2 Hours on the River. We will be paddling with the flow of the river so it's not too difficult for beginners.

You will need to pay in Cash or Check the day of the trip at the launching area. Best to bring cash!

TRAINS
Use the LIRR Port Jefferson Line - you will transfer at HUNTINGTON TO CONTINUE on the Port Jefferson Line but you MUST EXIT the TRAIN IN SMITHTOWN.
- FROM PENN STATION: 10:22 am - later transfer at HUNTINGTON and arrive in SMITHTOWN at 12:03 ticket price $13.25 EACH WAY
- FROM JAMAICA STATION: 10:45 am - later transfer at HUNTINGTON and arrive in SMITHTOWN at 12:03 ticket price $10.25 EACH WAY
MAKE SURE YOU PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS AT THE STATION TO AVOID THE UPCHARGE ON THE TRAIN.
Please Pack your own lunch or snacks to eat on the train or on the water.
Return time on the train will depend on when we finish up and if any of us decide to walk to a local restaurant for an early dinner. Grab a schedule for your return ride at the train station.

YOU NEED TO REGISTER BY AUGUST 16TH so we can reserve your kayak or Canoe for you. I recommend the single kayak! If you plan to share a canoe or kayak you will need to find your own partners! We will contact later to find out what you prefer.
