Join us in Vermont (and elsewhere)
We start hitting the mountain on Thanksgiving weekend (weather permitting). Our lodge is our home base for both winter activities and nightlife. Skiers and boarders have a wide range of terrain to choose from; Sugarbush, Mad River Glen, and Bolton Valley are minutes away. There is also a variety of cross-country facilities and hiking trails. Stowe is ~50 minutes north of the lodge.
After skiing, you can stop in the nearby village of Waitfield and do a little shopping or just head back to the lodge for aprés ski snacks, time in the sauna, a cocktail hour, and then dinner. Afterwards chairs are pushed aside to make room for dancing. Other nights may be quieter. You'll find us playing pool, foosball, scrabble, cards or other games, or curled up by the fireplace talking or reading. Every weekend is special with its own tempo and collection of people. During the weekends, everyone has a light cooking or housekeeping task which helps bring everyone together and keeps the cost of your weekend low. We arrange carpools whenever possible.
The club sponsors an annual group ski trip either internationally or out West. See our calendar for details on this year’s trip.
As always, stays at the lodge are subject to the current Rates and Procedures as posted on the our website. All people staying at the lodge are required to follow the effective Vermont health guidance. If you feel sick, stay home. Any person who becomes sick while at the Lodge must immediately leave/checkout of the Lodge.
There is a forum with information and to post if you need a ride or can give a ride. A topic has been created "Ride Share to/from SSC lodge in Waitsfield, VT" which you can post and/or subscribe to get updates sent directly to your email if desired. Please use this forum to keep communication going regarding ridesharing throughout the ski season.
We're also active in spring, summer, and fall. The Green Mountains in Vermont have lots of great trails for day hiking. Road riding will test your climbing skills. Gravel Rides will take you to some amazing roads and fun "hike-a-bike" sections. There are also many MTB trails nearby.
